A lot of things try to define me. People yell out their opinions of me. I also have my opinion about myself. Situations and events in life whisper what they think of me. So does my boss at work and every other person in my life. But these opinions are not necessarily accurate.

Today, I am sharing 11 things God says about me. I can trust what God says about me. And that is enough. I need no other opinion. Not even that of my arch-enemy, the devil.

So God says it. I believe it. That settles it.

1- I am a child of God. I belong to God.

John 1: 12. NIV. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

2- I am forgiven. I am no slave to sin.

John 8:36. NIV. So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through.

3- I am God’s beloved. The enemy cannot have me.

Isaiah 43:1b. MSG. “Don’t be afraid. I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re mine.

4- I am God’s prized asset. I was bought at a high price.

1 Corinthians 7:23. NLT. God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.

5- I am precious as the apple of God’s eyes. No one can hurt me.

Zechariah 2: 8. NIV. For this is what the LORD Almighty says: “After the Glorious One has sent me against the nations that have plundered you—for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.

The message version makes it even more graphic. “Anyone who hits you hits me—bloodies my nose, blackens my eye”.

6- I am not forgotten. God has my name tattooed on his palms.

Isaiah 49: 15 -16a. MSG. “Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you—never. Look, I’ve written your names on the backs of my hands.

7- I am too surrounded to surrender. His love surrounds me.

Deuteronomy 32:10. NIV. He found him in a desert land, in a barren, howling wilderness; He surrounded him, He instructed him, He guarded him as the apple of His eye.

8- I am redeemed.

Zephaniah 3:17. The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love, he will no longer rebuke you but will rejoice over you with singing.

9- I am victorious. All things work together for my good.

1 John 5: 4. NIV. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

10- I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Philippians 4: 13. MSG. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.

11- I am not alone. God has my back.

Isaiah 43:2. NIV. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” Isaiah 43:2.

12- I am God’s Masterpiece. A marvel to the world.

Psalm 139: 14 MSG. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation!
