Isaiah mussed of Christ:
He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand.
One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum.
But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us.
Christ took our place on the cross. He became our substitute. He was punished for our sins. He became the sacrificial lamb, the one who carried the sin of the world to death.
In a lot of ways, Christ became so many things so we don’t become those same things. Today, I am sharing 11 things Christ was, so we are not.
1- He was wounded, so you don’t carry your scars of sin.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53: 5
2- He was looked down upon, so heaven’s spotlight is on you.

3- He was faulted, so you are without fault before God.
And God has piled all our sins, everything we’ve done wrong, on him, on him. Isaiah 53:6
4- He was beaten, so by his stripes, you are made whole.
But the fact is, it was our pains he carried—our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. Isaiah 53:5
5- He was slaughtered without uttering a word, so he could speak up for you before God.
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isaiah 53:7.
6- He was buried with the wicked, so you rise in his righteousness.
He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Isaiah 53: 9
7- He became poor, so you are rich in God’s mercy.
You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ. Rich as he was, he gave it all away for us – in one stroke he became poor and we became rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9
8. He was not desirable, so you could be pleasing to the Father.
Around mid-afternoon Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Mathew 27:4b.
9- He was rejected and forsaken, so love could find you.
Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, Isaiah 55: 4.
10- He was cut off from the land of the living, so you could live.
For he was cut off from the land of the living;for the transgression of my people he was punished. Isaiah 53: 8b
